Currently, we are looking for a Performance Specialist. The Performance Specialist’s core mandate centers on the evaluation, testing and validation of new and currently deployed hardware and software systems for the purpose of understanding and ensuring optimal performance while maintaining overall system stability and ensuring that best practices are being used.
This candidate must be comfortable working within a fast-paced environment. They must possess a keen sense of enthusiasm and attention to detail, as well as a sense of commitment and dedication to our team.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Conduct test following predefined work flow and approval procedure
- Design and maintain test case and test plan
- Test server setup and maintenance for test result management
- Define, maintain and execute test procedure
- Maintain testing tools (both hardware and software) and test setup up to date
- Develop and maintain test automation
- Ensure that test results are well documented, accurate and up to date according to approved procedures
- Test result analysis and reporting
- Technology and product research
Candidate Requirements:
Technical:
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecom or Computer Science
- Industrial certification an asset
- Minimum three years of performance testing experience
- Excellent understanding of overall network architecture, Ethernet protocol and entire TCP/IP protocol suite
- Hands-on experience on various router, switch and layer-1 communication products
- Familiar with traffic/packet analyzers
- Familiar with various Windows and Linux distributions
- Familiar with virtualization technologies and products
- Familiar with RFC2544 and RFC1242 regarding to IP performance definition and benchmarking methodology
- Experience with switching and routing protocols like VTP, STP, BGP, RIP, OSPF and so on
- Experience in protocol conformance testing
- Experience in using TCL for telecom product testing an asset
- Experience in using testing equipment an asset (i.e Spirent Smartbits or Ixia XM)
- Experience in integration testing and functional testing
- Experience in software QA testing an asset
- Experience in testing process and test result management
- Experience with bug tracking and benchmarking tools an asset
- Able to create test plan, design and execute test case and generate report
